ABOUT US
The Tewksbury Trail Association (TTA) began its commitment to land and green space preservation over 25 years ago with 30 horse and land owners. Since then, it has grown to over 250 members, with more than 180 generous land owners who join us in our preservation efforts. In its commitment to the community, TTA volunteers time and financial resources to local charitable organizations including the Somerset Hills Handicapped Riding Center, Upper Raritan Watershed Association, Tewksbury Land Trust, Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad, Oldwick Fire Company, Oldwick Library, Hunterdon County ASPCA, and Mylestone Equine Rescue, as well as other open space and farmland preservation initiatives. In addition, TTA is responsible for maintaining and marking the trail network throughout the township.
Each fall, the TTA holds its annual trail pace, a timed event where teams of riders race (or just meander) through a well-marked 6-10 mile course to discover and explore the wonderfully scenic Tewksbury trail system. The team that comes closest to the preset time (not necessarily the fastest time) wins, and the event is followed by an awards ceremony. The event is open to both members and non-members. In addition, TTA members are invited to attend group rides such as beach rides, camp outs, monthly trail rides, and other social activities.
Board members are elected annually in the general member meeting. If you are interested in joining the Board, please contact us.
